Elementary Reading & Writing Teacher - Part Time Teacher

Job Summary

Shiery’s Tutoring is seeking a highly-qualified reading and writing teacher with previous teaching/tutoring experience to add to our growing team. Teachers will work with students one-on-one, in small groups, or classes to support students' academic needs and goals. Teachers will focus on reviewing and modeling key skills such as critical reading, writing, and others. This job is designed for teachers and educators who want to work evenings and weekends. This is not a 9 to 5 job since students are in school during most of those hours.

Location

All tutoring and classes will be in-person at our center. We do have the ability to offer online tutoring, but we are specifically looking for an in-person, local teacher. Our center is located in Bellevue at 14715 NE BEL RED RD, Ste 103.

Responsibilities and Duties

We are looking for tutors to work with students one-on-one or in small groups on literacy skills determined with the student and family. We are also looking for someone specifically to teach our reading and writing classes (4-14 students) provided curriculum.

Qualification and Skills

(Certification to Teach in Washington Preferred)

Job Types: Part-time - 20 hours weekly with the potential to grow to full time

• Bachelor's Degree in teaching or related field or extensive experience in related field
• Teaching certification can be in progress if graduation date is within the next 6 months.
• At least 3 years prior teaching experience
• Strong content knowledge and awareness of curriculum
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness and ability to use technology and software

Rates

$32.50 per hour

Job Type: Part Time (with the potential to grow to full time)

Benefits: We currently offer paid time off and health insurance (after a 90 day probationary period).

Currently we are a small local company that services the Bellevue & surrounding areas. However, our goal is to expand to be able to offer our services throughout the Puget Sound area, so we will be looking for teachers and staff that are looking to grow with the company and move up as we continue to expand. Many of our long-term tutors are now working with us full time and have continued to expand their roles within the company.
